Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell

Fangirl By Rainbow Rowell follows Cath, a social outcast who would rather write fanfiction then face the real world. Cath and her twin Wren are going off to college and they've always been close, but now Wren would rather spend time drinking and meeting boys than being with Cath. Meanwhile Cath's Room mate and her 'boyfriend' are determined to bring her out of her shell.

Fangirl was actually the first book I read by rainbow rowell, and I'm so glad I did. As well as being a fantastic novel with just the right amount of geekyness and romance in it, this was very reminiscent. The fanfiction Cath writes is based on 'The Simon Snow' series. Rainbow Rowell based this series on the 'Harry Potter' series by J.K Rowling. I read the Harry Potter books at a young age and loved seeing Cath experiencing the same feelings I felt as I went through them.
